Just remember that a deed poll is of no legal effect whatsoever. Using one only provides some little evidence of a serious intent to be called by a different name.If I started calling myself Fred Puli, it would not in itself make me Fred Puli, deed poll or no. I would only be Fred Puli in law if the world at large called me by that name. A moment's thought explains why. I could choose an absurd name, such as Alphonso Fussbucketdogfancier von Gigglestein , and have the deed poll to match, but since nobody would call me by that, it could never be treated as my new name.

Fred if you got your passport, bank account and driver's licence in that name, the "world" would have little choice.......

you can call yourself legally by any version of the names on your birth certifcate too.

actually you can legally call yourself anything you without using the deed poll process, like unless its with intent to defraud

There are services online that you can avail to change your name for whatever reason you may have. In the UK, all you have to do is provide your info in an online form.
