Estoppel Question Advise Needed

Me and my partner live in my parents house for 15 years now they want me out in the past on numerous occasions they have promised me and my partner the house but nothing on paper
The deeds are in there name and we have never paid any rent or mortgage but we have spent money on the property over 10 years about 15k . Do I have any chance of keeping the house or staying here we have 2 children the solicitor had advised me of estoppel saying that you parents have broken there promise?Additional DetailsI forgot to mention me and my husband are separated know he is saying that no promise was made I have a witness to the promise but we did apply for local housing housing register waiting for a house will that have any significance ?
As the landlords are saying one of the conditions of staying there was that you stay on the hosing register.
In other words we did not reply to our detriment can this act bee taken like this ?

If it halts the eviction and the courts say to me you have 12 months to leave I will be gutted I want the courts to say you have a beneficial interest

Tiger if you want to go to court over this you are going to need a lot of money. Lawyers do not work for free and they will want a large fee 'up front' to prepare a case. You stand no hope of getting legal aid on a case like this , from what I have seen on here this estoppel business is complicated and a lawyer will want a lot of money to fight it for you. If you lose the case you will pay all the costs probably in the tens of thousands of £s range.

12 months? the court will grant 2 or 3 months at best.

Do you have any idea how much a QC charges? Fred and Barmaid know better than me but think £250 to £1000 an HOUR !

Yes, I am saying you will be lucky to get 2 or 3 months to move out and you will probably have to pay full market rent for that time.

I think you need to start visiting estate agents.

If you want to stay there you could consider offering to pay something approaching a market rent. They may accept that

One final thing my child has a note from the hospital saying if he moved out they could have a negative impact on his behaviour will that help
