She told me that she was given a tresspassing document and told not to go back in any of their shops. When I asked what happened she said that she had been to the hairdressers and been in there 2 hours and had had nothing to eat. Wrongly she picked up some fruit meaning to go to the till and pay for it and forgot and started eating it. She is in here late 80's and gets confused at times. They took her to an office and questioned her, said they wouldnt call the police. She is very shaken up. They got her details and got her to sign a paper saying she was tresspassing in M and S. They said it would go no further but she said how will they know her will they have taken a photo ?

McPartlin

Thank you Mamya, most kind.
McPartlins issues are self inflicted, Baldric.

Been to the Hairdressers and had nothing to eat, who was at fault there then Douglas?
Nasty,arrogant remark,as usual,Baldric.
When I was very ill one of the symptoms was dithery confusion....after looking at some handbags in M&S I was a good way home before realising one of their bags was still hanging on my arm.....
I didn't choose to be ill.....this lady isn't choosing to age and become confused......McPartlin has a choice, Baldric...unless I have misunderstood your point......I hope so......x

She had eaten earlier on

A simple question Denton.
Coming across a bit Brigadier Buffton Tuffton there Balders. She's an old, confused woman who ate an apple not an armed robber or a drunken TV presenter.
Tamaris, are you able to contact a close relative or friend and explain the situation?
Hope you noticed the “as usual”,Baldric, much like most of your Posts.
Baldric....stop and think....you may have changed after your fall....you don't know what's in store for you and yours in the years to come....x

Ah, it was an Apple, I didn't know that, and don't know how you did.

Sadly the only family live abroad she is alone.
Are you able to stand up for her, Tamaris?
Question Author
Not really I am not in good health either
Tamaris....I imagine you don't want to speak to the manager then, but would you consider emailing their customer service?

Explain what happened and say how concerned you are for the lady.

M&S customer service folk are, in my experience, really good to deal with.....x
Ah you got me, I should have put 'an apple or whatever'.

You however don't have to announce your apparent pettiness.
Could you or another neighbour write a letter to the manager asking them to look again at all the circumstances?

If not, try as I said to reassure her that it's fine to still be out and about and shop elsewhere.
You needn't get too involved, Tamaris.....just, if you can, a nice friendly and concerned email.......

I'd be surprised if the response to your neighbour isn't an apology in the circumstances....and a bunch of flowers..... :-)
