Odd question that i cannot fine an answer for.
my contract working week is 3 days x 6 hours. =24 hours.
i know a holiday week is 7 days, however if i take 3 days leave can i still work any of the other 4 or is it wrong as i,m "technically" on holiday for the week.? thanks in advance.

are you talking of a different job, or at the same job?

I got lost there ibizaboy
Surely it depends on your employer, when there open or when they need you to work
Are you on set days or if not who decides what days your working

oops sorry, wrote this too quickly. 3 days/ 6 hours = 18 hour contract.
same employer, is just that if i take a weeks holiday ( 7days) my entitlement is 3 of those 7. so could i work any of the other 4.? my boss isn,t sure either......as legally your holiday entitlement is " a week off" . he doesn,t need me to go in, we were just discussing it yesterday,.
If you are working your 18 hrs but just on different days of the week, surely that's not holiday?
or do you mean get paid for "holiday" (18 hrs) plus get paid for 18 extra hours you do on different days?

yep almost that bednobs. it would be 18 hours paid holiday off.....then if i did go in any other day of the 4 in the same week i would then be paid for those days. but......would it show up on payroll that ive gone into work on my week off ans shouldnt have.?
Often if you have a holiday entitlement which is time-limited but you don't take it - i.e. you go into work for the same employer - then you lose the entitlement unless there is agreement to carry it forward.
Your holiday entitlemet is NOt legally a week off... its whatever hours your entitled to. If its 18 hours thats what you take. If you do work any hours that week your either not taking those holiday hours or your doing extra hours which may be at overtime rates or at normal rate depending on what your employer agrees or you contract says
Just go with what your employer thinks... does he want you to take the full holiday and or work some extra time. The only rule/law is your entitled to take your annual entitlemnet under working time regulations
