under what circunstances do the police call children's aid society. my 4yr old son got out and my neighbour found him and called the police. he was with them the hole time.

As you mention the Children's Aid Society I assume that you are US based. This website is UK based and is used predominately by people in the UK who don't usually know much about US law. You would be better posting your question on a US based site.
