3 Answers
My next door neigbour engaged some chaps with a ladder, chainsaw and rope to chop off some large branches off his trees(in a very unprofessional way I must admit. As a result They ripped out my phone line and damaged a panel on the bungalow.
On approaching my neigbour about this he said nowt to do with me mate go and see the blokes who did it .
I was given a name and address(which turned out to be false. I have since been back to see him and he says go away Help

Contact your local citizens advice office. They will tell you what your rights are in law and how you should approach your neighbour.I would imagine you would be better to put your complaint to him in writing first (keeping a copy of the letter) informing him of the damage and a quote of what it will cost to put it right and request that he stands the cost. I think you may make matters worse if you go straight for the court action. You have to give him a chance to be reasonable and if he still insists it has nothing to do with him...then you go the small claims route. When he receives your complaint in writing he will realise that you mean business. Don't forget to keep copies of all correspondence between the two of you.If you have to apply to the court the judge will want to see that you have made every reasonable effort to resolve the matter before you have resorted to court action or otherwise he may not find in your favour. Hope to have helped. Good luck.
