Assuming she's the boss (or at least, your boss) then even if she doesn't have the legal right to fire you for wearing a nose ring, she could easily lie and say that you were fired for some vague "insatisfactory performance" or "subordination" reason...

If that happened, the likelihood of you having the time and the inclination to take the company to a tribunal, and prove that it was all over a nose ring would be low.

And that assumes she can't just fire you for wearing the ring outright. You either need to take the ring out or find a new boss.

i know but i just got it done like not even a week ago
When you accepted the job you agreed to abide by the rules as set out in company policy - usually in a handbook or manual kept in the office but available for the staff to read.

You may have been given a copy of your own.

Have a look at it and see what Dress Code 8-1 is. If it says no facial piercings, then you have to take it out.

If it fell out, what would the consequences be? Could it end up in somebody's food or the food packaging?

Ewwww Ethel ! What a picture in my mind now.
Imagine she had the cold and was fixing a sandwich for a customer and it fell in the filling. yuk!
Eeeeew!!! Don't! Shudder.
I had my nose pierced but always accepted the rules at my workplaces.

When I worked in a supermarket it was policy so I didn't wear it.

When I finished law school and started working in law firms it wasn't really the done thing so I stopped wearing it.

Would you rather wear it or end up getting disciplined or fired?

Am guessing you can't take it out for a while or it will heal over but they could say you should have checked policy first and it isn't their fault.
What a world we live in ?.

Nose rings, studs, earings, tattoos, dyed hair, it's part of the 21st century.

In the right enviroment I cannot really see a problem.

My first question would be : How important is your job to you ?.

Is it worth being at loggerheads with your boss everyday over a piece of jewelery ?.

Decision time looms - Take it out at work, do your job, get paid and come home, or get another job.

The rules of basic food hygiene dictate that no jewellery should be worn when handling food. Jewellery harbours bacteria. As your piece of jewellery is a nose ring, that might sound daft, but if you touch it, only momentarily, while you're working, - and we all touch our faces from time to time - then the food you're handling could become contaminated. I'd hazard a guess that somewhere in the company rules - or even in your contract of employment - there will be something stating that no jewellery may be worn.

(By the way, the only piece of jewellery that is sometimes acceptable is a plain wedding ring).

09:30 Take it out and you'll just be another mindless drone, another of the millions of sheep who think and act like their supposed to - just like the nazis.

I say wear it, and tell the old lady to shut up or you'll firebomb her house."

i don't even care if i lose my job, i hate that job anyways and i am looking for a new one.

i don't even care if i lose my job

That makes you a complete waste of time and a pleb to boot
I agree kittens, i was just gonna make a suggestion but sod it lol

Go away, you petulant child.

Just as well you work in unskilled jobs if you think that you can use Canadian Law to back up your trivial foot-stamping.

I'm not surprised that your Supervisor wants to get rid of you.......I would !!
