Basically my boyfriend was in a pub and went to the toilet with his friend, they were both in a cubicle when someone tried to enter and was accusing them of taking cocaine (which they have told me they weren't), the person turned out to be a police CID officer but he didn't tell them this.
He tried to get to our friend but my boyfriend stopped him, the officer then hit my boyfriend round the mouth, he then retaliated and punches were thrown from both ends, our friend tried to split them up but failed so walked out the pub. My boyfriend then pushed the officer off him and turned around and walked out.
It turned out that he hit the urinal when he fell which punctured his lung.
They didn't find out he was a police officer till the following day.
There is no evidence of drugs apart from what the policeman has said.
My boyfriend has no criminal record and the behaviour is completely not like him.
I'm really worrying what will happen!

no he was off duty, drinking in a pub, no uniform, not told them he was pc plod, and ppl in the pub have said he was drunk- thats bound to affect his judgement isn't it?
the poster has deleted it because this is another one of those "greenie" questions..

it was just a matter of time!
Question Author
whats my age got to do with anything btw?
I think you've just sunk your b/f without a trace by mentioning that the police officers 'ONLY' witness is a high ranking fire officer?
Question Author
you mean I've deleted it? I did ask him and he says they were just talking, I know and he knows how dodgy it looks but ...!

he's 27 not exactly young, I'm not a stupid young girl either, I'm a 21 year old trained accountant with a 5 month old baby, who's worrying about whats gunna happen
While I appreciate your concern for your bf as you both have a baby (ur bf wasn't thinking of u nor his baby when in the toilet with his friend).....have you thought about the policeman who may have children of his own. He is probably in hospital with his damaged lung which could affect him for the rest of his life.

I hope, for your sake and that of your baby, your bf gets the full force of the law, along with his friend.

The least he can do is send a 'Get Well' card and apology to the policeman.
Sorry you didn't make that very clear. (About the fire officer being your b/f's witness or at least an independant witness)In that case if he is willing to give evidence in your b/f's favour he might get lucky but it's still going to come down to this business of the two of them being in or seemingly in one cubicle and unless your boyfriend can come up with a good reason it's not going to be a very easy ride.
do accountants say, "gunna"?

are you related to the 13 yr old looking for work, perchance?
or indeed the guy with the puppy in the crate perhaps?
Question Author
thanks a lot for your concern pp, so you'd rather he got locked up and leave me and his baby with a huge mortgage and bills.
The copper has been proved to be lying in a murder case, and other cases. So why wouldn't he lie about this? Re his lung he's recovered now.
Why in the first place didn't he say "I'm a police officer blah blah?"
NOX - hurrah for you.. I thought I was on my own for a moment!

I don't know sc, but just assaulting a police officer is bad enough - or anyone, come to that. If drugs were involved as well, it doesn't look too good I'm afraid.
You say that your bf's behaviour is completely not like him...so what made him react in this sudden and violent way then? Just because someone tries to barge into your cubicle, the first thing you'd do is say that someone was in, and even if the officer DID accuse the guys of having coke, I'm sure he wouldn't just smack your bf in the mouth for nothing? Hope he gets a good solicitor.

I am an accountant, AAT qualified what has that got to do with anything though?
oh, it's just a credibility issue :o)
