Those gays and the hotel law suit
Do you think the outcome of the sueing by those two gay men against the christian hotel owners would have been the same if the hotel owners were of a different religion (that's equally against homosexuality) such as Islam?

of course they should keep up with legislation jack.
I still think this was a set up (no, i have no evidence) If the couple had set up their hotel business after the discrimination act was passed i would not have any sympathy at all. I don't understand or even want to get into the religious aspects of it, but this old couple were stuck in their ways (they discriminated against heterosexual couples too remember) The gay couple should have looked elsewhere.
I know full well i would not want to stop anywhere that insisted i was married to the woman at the side of me. I would move on just as soon as the question was posed.
late reply, but Emmerdale ..........

"When we booked to stay at the Chymorvah Hotel this was not, as some have suggested, a set up sponsored by a pressure group.
"We just wanted a relaxing weekend away - something thousands of other couples in Britain do every weekend," Mr Preddy said.
"Because we wanted to bring our new dog we checked he would be welcome. It didn't even cross our minds that in 2008 in Britain we needed to ask if we would be."
And I've just read ^ that..............

I think the problem is that most people, generally the older generation, view homosexuals only in the light of their sexual behaviour. First and foremost they are just people like everyone else. No-one really looks or cares if two hetero people who are in love, sign in at at an hotel as Mr & Mrs Smith nowadays.
At first it must be shocking for a gay young man (or woman), to find out that they feel happier with someone of same sex. I imagine most families feel shame. I think that there are people who never come to terms with their sexuality and marry a woman in a bid to have a conventional family life. It is groups like Stonewall, hysterical hissy fitting men who flout and flounce their way around proudly boasting of their 'difference' that I dislike intensly. These are the people who promote themselves and in my view the reason everyones distate; These are the people that set the Christian Hotel couple up. There are a lot of quiet, intelligent, good people who are disposed to same sex relationships who are tarred by the actions of groups like Stonewall.
