slinky kate, how was she?

do you do that thing when looking at a well known person, have a peek, look away, have another, because you are not quite sure it's them...
A company I worked rewarded staff who had hit all their targets with a trip abroad. It was classed as 'team building'. My group went to Greece and the 'motivational speaker' was Duncan Goodhew. God, the shoulders on that man! He was with us for a couple of days and he was a really lovely bloke. On our morning off he was in the large hotel swimming pool. It was noticeable that some of the other guests, of different nationalities, who probably didn't know that he was an Olympic breast stroke gold medallist, were muttering and pointing, obviously impressed at the speed he went up and down the pool. Later, he gave impromptu swimming lessons to my group. I remember after my lesson, I crossed the width of the pool in 23 strokes, he did it in three!
Mr.Cupid has met:- Prunella Scales, Denise Welsh, Tim Healey, Gerald Harper
(Hadleigh), Isla St Claire, Adam Faith, Tony Selby, Kevin Lloyd (Tosh in The
Bill), Princess Margaret and David Blunkett (but he didn't see Mr. Cupid)

I have seen Jimmy Edwards (Whacko!),Hattie Jacques, Eric Sykes, Noel
Edmonds, Rose Marie, Anne Charleston, Peter Noone,The Baron Knights,
and loads more but cant bring them to mind at the moment.

Roger Lloyd Pack, and some others, funny really that you see these people off the tv or in the cinema and they seem so remote.
Professionally just about any 'celebrity' chef you can mention, privately I know a few writers, musicians, broadcasters and presenters (I won't mention the politicians), publicly I have bumped into oodles of 'known' faces.
Question Author
eccles, anyone you liked, did like, names?
Question Author
didn't like.....
Jon Snow is the most amazing chap. It was a huge privilege to work with him.

I don't like idiots who think they can out smart supermarket self-scan machines.
Politicians have included Alex Salmond, Margaret Thatcher, Lord Wadham, George Young, George Younger, Vince Cable (worked with him), William Hague, Chris Patten, the Rev Ian Paisley Enoch Powell.

Chris Patten and Vince Cable - very nice and well informed, Enoch actually charming, the one I found boorish was the Reverend - and also Tony's ambassador to China who was a Dept TTrade and Industry brown suit and really did not cut the cloth. I laughed my head of when News and Screws got him for bonking the Headmistress of St Pauls Girls on a desk in the Foreign Office....
