A company I worked rewarded staff who had hit all their targets with a trip abroad. It was classed as 'team building'. My group went to Greece and the 'motivational speaker' was Duncan Goodhew. God, the shoulders on that man! He was with us for a couple of days and he was a really lovely bloke. On our morning off he was in the large hotel swimming pool. It was noticeable that some of the other guests, of different nationalities, who probably didn't know that he was an Olympic breast stroke gold medallist, were muttering and pointing, obviously impressed at the speed he went up and down the pool. Later, he gave impromptu swimming lessons to my group. I remember after my lesson, I crossed the width of the pool in 23 strokes, he did it in three!

Politicians have included Alex Salmond, Margaret Thatcher, Lord Wadham, George Young, George Younger, Vince Cable (worked with him), William Hague, Chris Patten, the Rev Ian Paisley Enoch Powell.
Chris Patten and Vince Cable - very nice and well informed, Enoch actually charming, the one I found boorish was the Reverend - and also Tony's ambassador to China who was a Dept TTrade and Industry brown suit and really did not cut the cloth. I laughed my head of when News and Screws got him for bonking the Headmistress of St Pauls Girls on a desk in the Foreign Office....
