I met Matt Monroe, he was a lovely man. Had a night out with Joe Johnson and his wife (snooker player). I've met Jimmy Savile quite a few times. And I was Debbie McAndrew's boss when she worked in the Civil Service (she played Debbie in Corrie for a while).
All the time in the Shop I work in. Various Middlesbrough Footballers (Past and present). Lee Cattermole, an ex-Middlesbrough Footballer who plays for Sunderland. Liz Carling, an Actress who was born in Middlesbrough. Roy "Chubby" Brown. Channel 4 Racing presenter Derek Thompson.

(The lady in the glasses in the middle of shot). They were on the bill alongside Michael Barrymore in Great Yarmouth in 1986.
Friend of mines daughter while working in a hotel asked this lady for her name .The woman said DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM .the young girl no do you need a doctor The woman was a well known face from the television
David Wilkie beat me at a length in the swimming pool once. Not surprising really but given that he was just bimbling along using a float to keep his heavily bandaged thumb out of the water, whilst I was going hell for leather made me appreciate just what a great swimmer he was/is.
As I have lived in Manchester for over 20 years, I've seen quite a few from Corrie - Sue Nicholls, Phil Middlemiss, Terry Duckworth in Sainsburys, Amanda Barrie, Mavis, Rita, Jack Duckworthet. Have also met Michael Crawford (lovely man), Adam Faith, and Dave Allen.
I once sat opposite Mel Hopkins on the tube. He got on at Caledonian Road, and got off at Turnpike Lane. That was 1965, I think. He was reserve fullback for Tottenham, but a full Welsh international from late 50's to early 60's. He was a celebrity in the sense that almost everybody today is. I also saw the recently deceased Bobby Smith in 1964. That was on a bus. He got on at Hedge Lane, and got off at Wood Green tube station. I think I'll lie down now.
Bill Webster off Corrie, Jimmy Carr, All of Thin Lizzy circa 1980, Alan Silson (lead guitarist of 70's band Smokie), Francis Rossie and Rick parfit (briefly), The Clangers (and the soup dragon), Zac Dingle to name but a few. Gosh, I move in some exaulted circles, don't I?
Prince Naruhito of Japan arrived the office at 45 minutes' notice, when I was the only person in. I managed to get one of our directors in (I was company secretary in a 3 man management team).
He was doing research for a university degree. We entertained him and his chamberlain, Dr Akira K Fuji, for a couple of hours, and gave him some very useful information.
Joe Pasquale after a show, lovely man stood signing autographs and posing for pics in the rain,Judith Chalmers on Skegness beach of all places,The Chuckle brothers again lovely sat for 3 hours after a show signing autographs and posing for pics,Kristy Wright who was Chloe in home and away.I lived over the road from Lenny Henry pre him being famous and my second cousin is Norman Pace of Hale and Pace fame. The final and most dissapointing is I saw Antony Worral Thompson at Heathrow airport about four weeks before the shoplifting scandal came out
Had Phil & Kirsty from Location at my flat to film part of their show. It took about two days in total and the two people who were looking for a property were totally exhausted. Phil was brilliant a real gent just wanted to chat about bikes/cars etc. Kirsty is just as she appears, very polite and not up herself! The experience was great fun, there must have been about 15 people in the crew.
The Private Eye lot took me clubbing (and bank rolled my gambling) when I was deputy treasurer at Cardiff University. Closed my eyes at the strippers. Before that knew many Aston Villa players in the late fifties. Oh and Joe Mercer.
