Here is a show that is on Channel 4 some mornings and never really took off as far as I can see. To me it is up there with Friends as one of the best US comedy shows ever. Then you've got dirge like How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and all the rest taking up prime time slots, I don't understand why. Admittedly a show is better when you know the characters, but here is one of my favourite scenes.

Curb Your Enthusiasm and The IT Crowd are the only two shows I've ever gone back to and like the 2nd time around. Thought IT Crowd was shiite then saw the first episode of the 2nd series and just got it for some reason, weird. Same with Curb.
Question Author
smart, no.

Boo, what channel is Modern Family on?
Indeed Flobadob...indeed.
I agree with Mark Rae about American Sit Coms.

What was the one which took place in Alaska...now I really loved that one..
about a young New York Doctor.who went there to live...and his Secretary was an Innuit and really weird.....I wish I could think of the name of it.
^ Northern Exposure.....Gawd...I'm glad I remembered it..it would have been going 'round in my head all night!!! =)
its good fun to watch
Everybody loves Raymond is very funny, I like it unlike a lot of the drivel that the Yanks send us, some the OP as mentioned. However did someone mention Red Dwarf, top notch that show until Rob Grant left the writing to just Doug Naylor. (and part timers series 7)
The one exception to American comedy shows has to be Sgt. Bilko.
I like king of queens, everybody loves raymond is good but I am a bit put off by the overdone audience laughter it can go on a bit too long at something that isnt that hilarious imo.
I cannot bear Ray Romano.... I think his charcter of Raymond is just so annoying and stupid you wonder at times how he has the wit to put one foot in front of the other....How you can diss "The Big Bang Theory" which is so clever and funny and apparently the cast have just been given huge pay rises because of its popularity - well its shows there's just no accounting for taste..
I know what you mean Cazzz, I find that annoying aswell, but maybe something happened in a rehersal sometimes that was funnier... (a blooper show) moment or something.
I really like Everybody Loves Raymond (King of Queens was a spin off by the way) and would second the recommendation for Modern Family (which is on Sky1) which stands out from most American sitcoms just because it doesn't have the canned laughter that most people seem to find a problem with.
I like this and also The Big Bang Theory
I love Big Bang Theory; like most American sitcoms; only one I can really think of that I don't like is My Wife and Kids.

Married With Children was also good, and I liked Scrubs too.
King of Queens and everybody loves Raymond Big bang theory, that 70s show etc like em all, love the IT crowd and Black Books too, just got the Black Books box set,
i also laugh hysterically at The Inbetweeners and Outnumbered and last night I was giggleing away to that new Marriage ref show,
oh and don't forget Episodes, they're doing the next series now.
Actully I've just remembered Cheers because of thinking about Frasier, which then made me think of Soap, ll brilliant shows
Question Author
I've not seen cheers in years.
