Having a rather drunken conversation last night, we got talking about films, really well known films especially from our childhood/growing up years (we're all in our 40's) and it amazed me the "classics" some of them hadn't seen. Mr Boo for example hasn't seen Grease! I mean how is that possible??

Over to you, what "classic" films haven't you seen?

lol @ CD!!!
life long film fan, so i guess i have seen most of the so called classics, though thinking on it, not all the star wars series, but LOTR and just about every 1930's, 1940's musicals. I confess that i loved going to the cinema, something very magical about it. Nowadays you have to take out a mortgage to get in, but the occasional foray is good.

Buenchico

look out for a French film called, (in English) Wild Targets, with
Jean Rochefort, a knock your socks off, laugh out loud black comedy.
There was a remake a year or two ago, forget it.
Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman, have seen bits of these but never sat and watched them all the way through.
Any of the Batman films (apart from Dark Knight)
Any of the original Star Wars films.
Schindler's List

Haha; everyone says that; the thing is I know pretty much the whole plot of both films just because of how much they are referenced in other stuff! Have also just thought; have never seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or any James Bond film. (Must be something about Ian Fleming adaptations!)
There is a lot of classic films that many people have never seen, They may have been shown on tv every year since the 80's and still people have not seen them and It's because certain people don't like certain types of films and would just switch over or not bother to show any interest. I have never watched Grease, I av seen clips and bits but have turned it off, It's just not my kind of film.
Why would anyone want to see The Lord of the Rings?
don't know how or why, but never watched ANY Bond movie. Odd or what?
The sound of Music
A bit late in the thread, maybe - for "classic"films read "mindless escapism"
I've never seen any Star Wars films. I would like to though.. Ewan McGregor is in half of them... what's not to like? haha x
I've never seen The Sound of Music, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Gone with The Wind, Forrest Gump or any of the Harry Potter films. Actually, I tell a lie. I did go to the cinema to watch the 2nd Harry Potter one but feel asleep through most of it.
TS, i wouldn't call Casablanca mindless escapism.
Well, I had never sat through the "Sound of Music" until a couple of years ago, what a really great film!!!

I normally hate musicals!!

I am quite butch actually, Honest!!!!!

Ed, please delete this answer after a couple of hours, I may never live this down!!
Gone with the wind .titanic ,its a wonderful life ..greese any bond film .any pitt .cruise .depp.films .any of them pointless answers?
Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Gone With the Wind, Grease 2.
I've never managed to watch Pyscho or The Shining the whole way though! I only watched the first Star Wars films, but loved the LOTR. For me, the old classics were: Random Harvest, Casablanca and the Godfather films, and Sound of Music.
Part of the problem with a thread like this is the definition of 'classic' as opposed to simply ubiquitous.

So, crossing both genres, I have never seen -

Gone With The Wind
Citizen Kane
On The Waterfront
Oceans 11 (old or new versions)
The Italian Job (old or new versions)
Forest Gump
Sex In the City (either, or a single episode of the series)
Dirty Dancing
Casablanca
Schindler's List

but I have seen The Inbetweeners - which is surely destined to be seen as a classic!!!!
