yeah, ayg, but if you left your tiara outside the door with the shoes, it'd be reset and polished in the morning

Ah,Ratter, the 'Is everything all right?' school of service (I hate it too) isn't found in the likes of Claridges . They train staff to make service unobtrusive; the staff are supposed to seem as though they're not there, but they'll keep an eye out all the time, to spot any potential worry or problem that a guest or diner may have. That's why each course arrives exactly when you want it. Someone is watching for just that moment when they sense you will want it ,not a moment before or a moment later.
Craft " Glad I'm not one of your hotel staff ratter" why do you say that? I don't stay in hotels much but when I have there has never been any problem, I'm extremely polite, I just don't like being fussed over, I would rather stay in a lower class hotel for that reason. I just expect polite and courteous staff, not staff to grovel at my feet, I'm no better than the staff that serve me, I don't need or want anybody to chase me around like a servant.
I missed pt 1 but was mesmerised by last night's programme...it's fabulous, I love art deco. Just put me in a suite please, don't fuss over me too much and as long as I can still have traditional English dinners and cheese on toast on demand I'd be deleriously happy.
shaney, I love Thomas too.
