Poor soul even got food hell (squid) instead of food heaven (chicken) and then James showed him the beautifully cooked chicken and whisked it away again and made him eat the squid. What a nice young man!

Quite bright but then sleety on and off and it's freezing.
That sounds awful Neti. Yes scented candle or some air freshener. Mind you I nearly set light to a hotel room once with a candle.This is a true story btw.I don't do stupid things on a daily basis ;-)

I've been down mexico way, not my nice new gp, he was a bit miz, but that didn't stop me from having my full 10 mins. He said I could have a steroid injection in my painful jaw if it gets worse. The usual armful of blood tests are required but there's no rush. :/

Hello all. Had a wonderfully tiring day with hiha, went on the metro and buses and covered nearly all of Dubai. Feet so painfull. Found a delightfully cheap shop and bought some pillows and loads of hangers and soap, biscuits coffee etc etc and it onky came to £12. Couldn't believe it!! Have cleaned apartment so feels a bit better, still stinks and its a non smoking hotel!!!
Seeing the burj kalifer ws exciting. Tubes crowded but someone always stood for me. Now either I am excessively attractive or I am very old.
Tomorrow off to Abu Dhabi to see the famous Grand Mosque!!
Also bought a UAE sim card as i cannot be offline!!!

oh lord, a couple of days before we go away and we've sprung a gas leak. The man couldn't find it, he thinks it's where it goes through a brick wall, and says the best thing is to put a new pipe round the outside of the house; jno jnr suggests doing it properly and putting in a new combi boiler (the old boiler is over the bath and is consequently a death trap) ... meantime we're without gas, which we mostly don't need, but we've got hot water and heating. We'll have to leave it till April to sort out; jno jnr will be here a few nights to validate the insurance and he thinks he can manage.

Good thing it happened at 3pm instead of 3am, say I.

Good job it happened before you go away though Jno.Combi boiler is the way to go, though having said that ours has gone on the blink a few times, but it is pretty ancient .British Gas say parts for it will soon be obsolete .Picky,who knows about all this stuff says that's a load of flannel and they just want to sell people a new boiler.
Are you off to warmer climes ? Good for you if you are.Hope you have a lovely relaxing time away from all this mayhem ,pardon the pun.
Very quiet here today. I expect Neti is still going round on the Metro .Either that or she's shopped 'til she's dropped :)

Hi folks. At the atlantis on the Palm drinking wine while hija and Mr N go on a helicopter ride over the palm. Earlier i got stuck on the metro as those nipped off and I was shut in and Mr N had my ticket. I got off next stop and told them to come for me. Been to the beach, saw camels. Its rather pleasantly warm.

Yesterday went to see the penguins in Ski Dubai. We were VIPs and fedd them and stroked them but it was freezing even though we were supplied with snow suits gloves sox and ski boots. So so cold, took ages to warm up! Then we went to global village in the desert.

Good evening...here I is. Ooh, it's cold. We had a dusting of snow this morning and some flakes in the air on and off all day but that was enough for me.
