Just finished watching it and once again, just can't believe there are people like that. Why do they keep having children when they live like that. Its gross.
I think it's quite sad that they don't seem to know any better, it's like a horrible, vicious circle (and it's not just people on benefits who don't look after their children the way they should).
How could anyone talk to their children like that. And we wonder about todays teenagers. There was something on the radio this morning about a young man in prison who had to be taught to use a knife and fork.
I think most of us would cry if we knew how some kids were being dragged up and treated (regardless of 'income')
Income doesn't come into it ,but surely they should at least attempt to teach their children to be halfway civilised. I don't know why I watch it really, it makes me so angry.
Aren't they passing on what they've been taught?
But Sandy surely they want better for their children ----
I think we need to remember this programme is edited, and IMO anyone who has appeared on it has been exploited, and the programme makers must be delighted at the reaction from viewers ( just like us ) who are discussing it.
I think there are two issues - those that don't know any better (and how do you identify and help them?) and those that are just downright horrible to their children. I've seen it at the school, those 'respectable' parents who hiss venom at their kids when they are out of the playground. Upsets me and I am not us which group is worse.
They probably couldn't imagine their children going to Uni and getting a half decent job. 'Better' in their minds would be the children having a big win on the lottery.
I hate it all. Never knew anything but love growing up (one of six) but I always remember not saying please or thank you once and my mother said I always say it to you and she did.How hard is that.
My kids say thank you when I give them medicine.
On a lighter note Sandy, I wouldn't mind a big win on the lottery.
But I know exactly what you mean.
The Colonel's Lady and Judy O'Grady are sisters under the skin. :-)
You should live near the school that I pass daily. Come here you little C... or no you f...king will not f...king swear at f...ing me. Is it any wonder that their kids turn out the way that they do.
Cheltenham Girls College? ;-)
Thats very true Sandy, but some do it with a bit more grace.
I see people in the holiday village I work in calling their children tw**ts and c***ts. So horrible. The children don't stand a chance of behaving decently. They just don't know how to.
Cloverjo, Really?
