Ann, why is it irresponsible? it's been all over the TV press for weeks, how she was going to do it. I can't imagine that the TV company didn't seek guidance before shooting this story.
Guidance was given by Samaritans. It was agreed that drugs taken were not mentioned nor was how they were sourced. Didn't watch so don't know if these guidelines were followed.
I will say that both actors should get awards for their acting, so well acted, especially Roy - he was so brilliant, it must have been hard for him as it probably seemed so real to him.
lost 2/rds of my message there - deaths by such action as portrayed on Corrie is way under 0.5% and how palliative care has come on leaps and bounds in managing pain to take patients through to a 'natural' death in reasonably comfortable surroundings/conditions. This was where Corrie was irresponsible in not getting this across to those at the top of a horrible learning curve.
I thought that Hayley had been prescribed stronger meds and that she was hoarding them.
I was furious with Tyrone and Carla for barging into a sick woman's home, when Tyrone had seen previously how tired Hayley was, and Carla knowing how ill Hayley was, well you just wouldn't especially if her husband was with her.
