It was good entertainment at the time. We didn't have a telly in those days so I used to go next door to watch it on theirs.The format was good and even Brucie was funny, but I haven't even watched the new version as I do believe that certain programmes are past their sell by date. Back in the day, we got to see the American stars that came over to entertain and they were usually very good.
Now we want something fresh and lively, not old gits like Jimmy Tarbuck, Art Garfunkel and the rest. Unfortunately, some of the acts now are just not good enough and that is the main problem.
