Yes it is a natural function, but there are also many other natural functions that we possess but still don't find the need to display them openly in public.

I think the issue some people have with others breastfeeding in public is more to do with the offended parties not being able to separate the different functions of boobs - fun and function...

My wife breastfed on demand over 30 years ago - on public transport, in the library, in cafes and restaurants, on park benches, anywhere and everywhere she happened to be and nobody noticed.

She did get noticed when she'd been leaking, though, which was excruciatingly embarrassing for her.

Hmmmmm......so many people still seem to be pointing the finger and declaring that the breast-feeding mother is the one with the attitude/problem rather than examining quite why the sight of a feeding-mother makes them so uncomfortable.
