Yes it is a natural function, but there are also many other natural functions that we possess but still don't find the need to display them openly in public.

Actually blacklabs, I find your comment quite offensive- are you suggesting that because I would have been embarrassed and 'inhibited' to display my boobs in public, that I did not 'celebrate' my babies and did not 'love' them. My babies were not 'hidden' away in the slightest and I think I just wanted privacy when feeding my babies which was a wonderful experience, one I never wanted to do 'on the run'. My age has nothing to do with it, except that yes, it has become 'fashionable' to take your babies in restaurants and show no respect to others.

Breast fed babies, in the early days, don't have so much a routine as bottle fed. We can't look and say ahhh they've drank 6oz they won't need feeding for another 4 hours...

It seems that some mothers ARE out to prove a point, and get upset if they are asked to be a little more discreet, as in this case. And breastfed babies can easily have a feed before you go out, same as bottle, and shouldn't need more for a few hours. Your'e right, in the early days they may require more frequent feeds but again, no-one is telling them NOT to breastfeed, they are just being asked to do it discreetly, and with a very tiny young baby, that's pretty easy.!

How do I show lack of respect to breastfeeding mothers, I don't get it? I don't mind at all, as I said I think it is fine, I am just saying they should respect others who don't want to see it. And yes, it is nudity, some women will get their huge bosoms out to feed their babies. How is that not nudity? If there is no nudity then they ARE doing it discreetly and no-one has a problem with that. I do not have an unhealthy attitude to a woman's breast- such a weird comment. Breast-feeding should be encouraged and I did it!
