Yes it is a natural function, but there are also many other natural functions that we possess but still don't find the need to display them openly in public.

Well obviously this woman has made sure it is, since it is being reported on all over the media (not just the Daily Mail as someone has taken the opportunity to sugest)
Many on here have also made reference to how very little breast this woman was showing, and the way the very large napkin was covering the baby, don't they realise that these were posed photographs provided by the woman herself, so don't you think they would have been posed to get her point over, just like the statements of how upset she was etc?
As regards the suggestions of "if they don't like it, they should keep eat elsewhere" How very typical of some's attitude, may I suggest if you don't like Claridger's rules, then dine somewhere else.

Gatrocolic reflex.....feed a baby and it will immediately defaecate (***) and products of digestion in babies SMELL. The baby then, will need changing and surely this will not be done in the restaurant......although Mrs sqad tells me that out modern mother will change a filthy, smelly nappy in the isle of an aeroplane.
Now....if someone had said that, for a treat, they were going to take me to Claridge's for afternoon tea, Mrs sqad would have said " Fantastic,I will feed the baby early and get a baby sittier for a couple of hours, as i could do with the break"
Not our "modern miss, she got her tea free and publicity for herself and offspring.
Mrs sqad informs me that the ladies in Claridges is "luxurious" although I agree she shouldn't have to feed her baby in the toilets.

Silly nonsense, I have seen many babies being fed in public, in restaurants and pubs, it never occurred to me to be offended. What the hell is wrong with these old people, get a life, the world has thankfully changed, where feeding a baby is very normal and acceptable to most! Some people are unfortunately still in the dark ages.
I'm not daft, AOG....of course we know the photos were posed....
My bit of cleavage last night showed more than ever I did when I was breast feeding.....the waiter didn't complain.
It's feeding a baby that's getting folk in a two and six....not showing a bit of boob...because it's easy to feed and show no breast.... and to get uppity over a breast feeding mother is peculiar....and sad.
Thank god I breast fed in a civilised and friendly country where a baby being fed was....well a baby being fed.

Well I can head back to the restaurant for a photo shoot, Ratter.....and if you can find a recording of the Calgary Boomers you'll see I was part of the half time entertainment on one occasion .....I asked but the daughter refuses to pose for you now.....☺
