In this essay I intend to prove that women in action and adventure films are rubbish compared to 50 years ago. Back in the day women needed to be rescued and were more often than not rubbish, see any old film. But that made the films good. Nowadays women do 'asskicking', as seen in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, which isn't bad because they usually do it in a sexy way, which highlights woman's inherantly sexy nature, and desire to be looked at by men.

Sometimes women were spies, but they were sexy spies. They either died or got bonked. This is the same now, which indicates woman's inherantly treacherous but loose nature.

These changes indicate a shift in the roles of women, probably because one was prime minister of the UK. Where previously they were rubbish, perhaps treacherous, and a bit loose, now they are pretty much the same, but a bit more boring and have the ability to make films rubbish. This indicates a change in filmmakers style to a more social realist position.

In conclusion women should be in films less but should still be sexy.

Should get you an A*.

*sigh*  Media Studies, eh.
Actually, women's roles in hardcore action films seems to have stayed the same. Don't forget to mention that in the essay.
