Based on its venerable history, and its audience demographic, I think the show will have to go for someone mature and sensible, and not distracting, which instantly lets out Carol Vorderman - her apparent intention to morph into a living sex-doll would give the senior viewing audience an attack of the vapours!

I don;t watch Countdown, I find it not entertaining, and Carol Vorderman gives me an attack of the heebie jeebies, which is not quite the same thing.

I do however adore 8 Out Of Ten Cats Does Countdown, and I do try and pay proper attention as Rachel Riley explains the number puzzle, but I find that before she's finished, I get a loud rushing sound in my ears, and everything goes black and I wake up on the lounge carpet with no idea who I am.
