I have been watching Keeley Hawes in Line Of Duty and could not understand why she looked so different from the way she looked in Ashes To Ashes.
I thought she looked drop-dead gorgeous in that series, with her strong features, and her gorgeous teeth.
I see her on LOD, and she is unrecognisable as the same person!!
Now I know why - she has had a nose job!!!
I know that personal perception is everything, and it is entirely about how you personally feel you look, and nothing to do with what other people tell you.
But i have to say that from a former admirer's perspective, I loved her nose as it was, and I am saddened to think she has lost what I think gives her face character, and opted for a change which to my eyes makes her look rather plain and unremarkable.
I am atteacted to women with strong features, so her rather bland loook now does nothing for me at all.
As I say, it's her face, and I hope she is happy with it - just a personal observation, nothing more.
"My evenings are quite traditional in many ways. My children [Myles, Ralph and Maggie] are all still at home so my average evening revolves around feeding them, organising them and making sure what they’re doing. We’re very organised and tidy: I have to have a word with myself sometimes about just letting the kids make a bit of mess. Sometimes you have to be relaxed and let people live their lives and let home feel like a home."
I can't imagine that a couple with careers like their's don't have nannies or au pairs and a housekeeper. Can't imagine either of them standing there doing the ironing of school uniforms on Sunday evening!
Just to return to my OP - if you look at images of Ms Hawes in Ashes To Ashes, and compare them with images of her in Line of Duty, the difference in the shape of her nose is perfectly evident.
She reminds me of Steve Harley who, as a younger man, was very handsome with an aqueline nose, which he then had surgery on, and has the rather pudgy fat nose he has today - again, comparison of images shows the difference.
Convinced i'd posted this reply earlier - wonder if it's on another thread? :-(
In my most humble of opinions, the plainer the character Keeley Hawes plays, the better an actor she seems to be. Her performances in LOD, Bodyguard and, most recently, It's A Sin were very commendable. We are bound to see lots of her as her CV marks her out as one of our finest actors.
Cloverjo - // I think she is less attractive in LoD because her character looked so bloomin’ miserable all the time. //
I get that - her character, as far as I have seen (we are only on Series Two) is clearly a person who doesn't spend a lot of time and money on looking attractive - and I guess that's a tribute to the make-up and lighting people, the writers, and of course Ms Hawes as an actress.
