Sometimes fame is difficult to cope with, I know I'd hate to be famous, I love my anonymity. Heath Ledger was an example. Courted fame but when it arrived he couldn't cope.

Why is it that when someone becomes rich and famous they decide to start taking drugs, why?

I've never watched Friends! Am I alone?  Sad news though.  I can appreciate that it's very possible to get addicted to prescribed drugs.

Lottie, I didn't watch it when it first aired but was persuaded to by my daughters who loved it.

Didn't find it funny at first but I stuck with it and once you get to know the characters...... well, I would go as far as to say, I found it the best comedy show to ever come out of America.

Similar thing here Barsel when it came to watching the show it never appealed but they (family )were watching it about series 3 maybe 4. but did have me laughing from the off even though halfway through an episode.

I have never watched "Friends". Sad though and family and friends must be devastated - also the many fans of Matthew.

brainiac when I spoke to my Friends mad daughter on the phone this morning, she said as Chandler, Could I BE anymore dead? and I thought, if you weren't a Freinds fan, you just wouldn't get it. I did tell her I thought that was in pretty poor taste though. My daughter has 2 dogs called Monica and Phoebe and I'm trying to get her to get another and call it Rachel.

Barsel, the only Amercan comedy show that ever made  eLOL was Frazier.  Never been tempted by Friends.  Basically I don't like American humour, but Frazier was so different.  My son got me into that.

As far as I know he'd kicked the drinks and drugs and had helped lots of other people to kick it too. It's said he drowned in the hot tub, but there must be more to it than that. My guess is that the poor lad had a heart attack, went under the water and drowned.

Lottie, we used to watch Cheers but don't know why we didn't watch the spin-off Frasier, but I have heard it was very good.

Do you know if your son watched Friends?

It's possible Friends isn't your cup of tea, we don't all like the same programmes as we know from past posts.

never watched friends, my daughter did and said it was funny, very young to die though.
