This week's two parter - implausible, far-fetched, credibility stretched to the limit but a jolly good romp.

Loving the two new characters, Maggie Steed can do no wrong in my eyes and Francesca Mills is a joy.

Are you watching?

It stopped being silent years ago, when it started shouting diversity from the rooftops.

^That's when we stopped watching it.

Your sensibilities are quite safe.  It's all white, all heterosexual.

^Charming!

Question Author

What were you referring to re diversity?

Why was she getting so emotionally involved while trying to help those on the plane?

I must say, I do like their little helper, lovely character .

Kit is  engaging, isn't she? A breath of fresh air.

Dave, maybe that's why Nikki chose forensic pathology, too much empathy with living patients. Gets too involved.

I stopped watching when the team began accompanying plod on door to door enquiries and sitting in during interviews.

perhaps people are horrified at seeing people in wheelchairs/disabled people who work?  All in the name of diversity of course; it's not like any of us actually do :)

Question Author

Ken, they did away with the police altogether long ago. They do it all except arrest the miscreants, in a few episodes they've been running around with guns!

As I said in the OP, it's far-fetched but enjoyable for us

Yes, I am watching current series & enjoying it.

But I did stop watching a few series back when it got totally ridiculous.

Question Author

What was the similar series called? Hasn't been on for a few years

waing the dead?  the body farm?

waking

Question Author

That's it, thanks. Waking the Dead.

I read The Body Farm, I've read all of Patricia Cornwell's books

Can't recall what year it was when i stopped watching but whatsherface had accompanoed plod ro a suspect's house on the premise of taking a DNA swab. Thereby suggesting that only a Home Office pathologist could perform such an undertaking.

That was far too far-fetched for me so to imagine the team running around with guns would have my blood pressure rising through the roof.

So glad i stopped watching.

The body farm was a UK spin-off of Waking the dead

Question Author

I remember that TV series now, it seems such a long time ago
