I went out the room for 5 mins and when i got back Mickey was there ! How come, as i thought he chose to stay in some other universe and would never be able to return ? Can anyone explain ?

He did, but in his world the Cybermen disappeared just before they were defeated. It turns out that the Cybermen used a rift caused by the Dalek sphere to escape to "our" world. Mickey and (from the sounds of it) some of his fellow fighters used the same rift to follow the Cybermen, hoping to defeat them forever.
