What has happened to Channel 5's The Shield? It wasn't on last Saturday and hasn't been scheduled for this Saturday either. Surely it hasn't been dropped.

It was dropped last week in favour of the moronic cosmetic Surgery live...but the geordie continuity announcer did say "The Sheild will be baaack neckt week" so unless he was lying?? Mind you Five have adopted a habit of ******* about with the running order of the american programmes.....both CSI and Miami have been repeated without finishing the last series (4 and 2) respectively......BTW I thought the Shield had gone a little over the top with the heist of the money train and all...No?

Yes I know what you mean sft , but it's still unmissable in our house.
I thought the geordie voice over fella said last Saturday that it would be back in 3 weeks!!!!???
I think that Channel 5 think that these programmes dont build up a loyal following who are then racked off when they are substituted by barrel scrapings.
It's supposed to be back in October, because God knows we all really need to watch air-headed women getting bigger plastic tits to replace the plastic tits they already have. Jesus the programme controllers wouldn't know truely decent TV if it jumped up and kicked them in the ass!!
I cannot believe they broke up the series flow!! I thought it was their top program. Why move it from tuesday anyway? The dumb Lyons den has'nt been moved.
Thank God someone asked this, as I thought The Shield must have been the end of the series. None of the terrestrial channels know what to do with superior US dramas. I don't think they know a good one when they see it. There was a time when The Shield would have been meat to Channel Four. Now they buy routine "Dragnet" retreads like Without A Trace, put them on at prime time, and show The Sopranos later, almost in the middle of the night? And who was the nit who bought The Lyon's Den? I think Nip/Tuck is tack as well: it speeds the plot along as though we are all about to switch over any moment. In one episode they even stole a "sharpei" joke about uncircumcised penises from Sex in the City. And I've missed so many episodes of Six Feet Under now because they've been on so late, I'm close to giving up on it. One day, all we viewers will simply buy a series like The Shield for ourselves and put it on our own subscription channel. One day we'll scroo them!
i brought series 1, 2, 3 and 4 off ebay for a tenner each
