It's never been confirmed but apparantly it is the bloke who played Alan Mckenna on Corrie who was Fiona the hairdressers boyfriend years ago.

I have a friend that knows one of the shows sponsers and apparently at the last christmas party it came out to those that were there that it was actually one of the security at channel 4 studios but this has now stopped and it is now the stig from Top Gear and the banker is now the new stig on top gear I kid you not.
