I thought it would be difficult to accept Rowan Atkinson in a lead part in a serious drama but he's fine. It's a bit of a slow burn so far but it's growing on me.

Yay! He really pulled it off. Excellent understated acting from Atkinson gave the character and not the actor prominence. Loved it and I'm looking forward to the series.

Yes, definitely worth watching. RA was very good. i thought David Dawson as Marcel Moncin gave an excellent performance too (as did most of the supporting cast) Looking forward to more.

Not bad, I guess. I remember it from the 60's version with Rupert Davies, and I think he played the part with a bit more, levity.

Yes I enjoyed it Rowen Atkinson could be another David Jason who made the switch to serious acting successfully

I thought it was very watchable. Not sure I would like RA in the lead role but I believe he 'underacted' and aced it.

Understated acting to the point of being wooden, little interplay between the characters. Didn't capture the atmosphere of the books.The Michael Gambon version was far better.
