Depends what you are driving? A moped would use less than the QE2 for example.

40 MPG would use 500 gallons @ �5 per gallon giving a cost of �2500.

depends on what mpg you get and at what price you were/are paying for your fuel
also the make model and fuel type make a differance so does using aircon and what loads you carrie in your boot my classic car does 20 mpg @ 5 quid a gallon =1000 gallons x 5quid =5000 pounds
