Un-Speeding
I'm curious about something and maybe someone here can enlighten me. Why is it that some people will drive at 40mph in a 60mph zone even if all conditions are fine? I know 60 "is the limit and not the target" but in my opinion 20mph lower than the limit is excessively slow (conditions depending of course). So, I'm intrigued...why?

If it is then it is lack of consideration for others, or maybe deliberate antagonism. A few may be nervous drivers who either have not been driving long, or who are sufficiently old they no longer trust themselves are speed. I think your guess is probably as good as mine.
I tend to agree with that Chuck. It reminds of when I used to wait to get picked up for work a few years back. As I stood waiting for my lift, the same car would drive past me every morning. For over a year (probably more but I stopped waiting there) the car had one of these P plates on it, presumably to warn other drivers that this was a 'new' driver and to take caution. I always thought that if that person felt the need to have that P plate on for so long, they probably shouldn't be in the driving seat.
I,m sure many will disagree with me but I don't think a driving licence should be for 57 years, assuming you passes when you were 17, I think people should be retested regularly every ten years at the most, five would be better, that way incompetent drivers could be weeded out or given the help they need to gain confidence again. Just my opinion anyway.
The road from the M25 down to Brighton is a good road for a bit of a blast, Milly.
But, sometimes, it is just crawling with Police cars, including unmarked cars.
Luckily, it's an "all or nothing" with them. It you get as far as Gatwick without seeing a Police car, then they are all somewhere else today, and you can spank it the rest of the way.
Hypothetically, of course.
