WAITROSE!! Honestly what is the world coming too?

I politely pointed out to him that he was going the wrong way up a one way parking lane. If I hadn't braked quickly he would have hit me and he was in a massive old 4X4. Bet he wouldn't have sworn if I had been a big bloke like him. Ignorant pig, I'm still cross that he was so rude to me.

No question, just a rant.

Khandro he hadn't slowed down, just the opposite. He came tanking round the corner and as I said nearly hit me. And if I was one of those people you are talking about I would NOT tell someone to FO.

///Must be the mugs who shop there with the over inflated pricing///

What over inflated pricing, just jump on the uninformed bandwagon why don't you?

Waitrose is the only place I can buy celery salt. Sounds ridiculous but true.

Well I'm one of those mugs thank you Jeza. How long since you shopped in a Waitrose and checked their prices out?

My mother used to put celery salt in her stews. Delicious. First time I've heard it mentioned for years.
Lovely on eggs and in tomato juice. Use it often in soups.
don't think I've tasted celery salt ! don't like celery though .
Many years ago, not long after passing my driving test, I was giving a lift to my mother to her friend's. On the dual carriageway I overtook a car driven by an old bloke, who evidently seemed to think that I had cut in front of him too sharply (I hadn't). He tailed me through every back street and by road till I reached my destination, all the time visible in my rear mirror. When I eventuallt stopped he got out and berated me for cutting him up. By this time I was thoroughly fed up and told him to Eff off. His reply was, "Charming! What would your mother think if she heard you talking like that?" I answered, "Just a minute," opened the car door and pretended to speak to my mother, closed it again and said, "She says you can eff off as well!"
Not a strong flavour in the salt, or is it the texture of the celery you dislike?
I had someone punch my side mirror while I was in queuing traffic, with all kids including Polly in the car. He drove off after all the abuse he gave me, I did not deserve that for no reason whatsoever. I was shocked, and shaken up. I reported him! My middle child was sat on that side of car, and was so upset and scared. I cannot understand why people do that. Its a cruel world out there. :-(

Blackadder you must have been young(ish) then I take it. This guy must have been in his fifties.
Phleb that's awful, much worse than being told to FO.
It's been a while since I was in Wairose with my card, I don't work or live near one any more - but a year ago I used to get the free coffee every day, but you only got a free DM or DT if you spent £5. Is there no spending limit any more, from what you say?
The other day, I was in a supermarket car park which had a one-way system when I came across another car coming towards me. I was close to telling the driver she was going the wrong way, but decided not to say anything, in order to avoid an argument. I was glad I didn't a few minutes later when I realised it was me who was going the wrong way.
I was once in our local supermarket car park, and parked up quit legally within the white lines (although a little close on one side). As I was walking away, the man who was parked in the next bay returned with his shopping commenting that he couldn't get in his car. I apologised and offered to move mine a bit and he replied with a comment along the lines of 'b**** women drivers'. So I changed my mind, left my car where it was and went into the shop. And I took a lot longer than I had originally intended - leaving him fuming with his frozen food all hopefully defrosted.
Lady B, are you talking about the new Waitrose at the greyhound stadium or the old one on Western Road? The new one still seems to be having some teething problems although there was absolutely NO excuse for that customer to yell at you. xx
You did the right thing, and made your point. He probably realises he was in the wrong anyway [or it will dawn on him]. Just remind yourself that you can't reason with unreasonable people. Funny isn't it, walk around in a busy store or steet and we all somehow manage to avoid each other [invariably saying sorry if we walk into someones path]...yet behind the wheel most drivers have this "get out of my way" attitude.

Boxy you can get a free drink very day but if you have a newspaper you have to spend £5 Mon-Fri and £10 on Sat/Sun. You have a choice of The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph, Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, Scottish Daily Mail, The Scottish Mail on Sunday, The Guardian, The Observer, The Times and The Sunday Times.
Oops Cloverjo, I was definitely going the right way:-)
Good for you Lynda.
Jan it was the new one (that used to be a Co-op) at the Greyhound Stadium. Now you come to mention it there was a race meeting going on ...

Manta you're so right. Happens all the time and most have nothing to apologise for. Funny thing is the really rude ones who barge into you or cut right in front of you never apologise.
