Drivers Too Close To Cyclists
Although this might be a good idea in the interests of increased road safety – surely it must work both ways with police warning cyclists who under-take a slow moving line of vehicles, where the gap between the cars and pavement is less than 2.25m.

My own brush with a motorist is well documented on here(type: SMIDSY T junction into YouTube) and yes, we are all guilty of stupidity at times, regardless of what we drive/ride.
When boiled down to its barest bones, it is sadly thus: motorists kill cyclists, cyclists don't kill motorists.
Let's ALL share the road sensibly, then those less skilled/confident at cycling will hopefully use the road more and pavement less.

I had this experience with cyclists yesterday, they were literally blocking the road as they were riding 4 abreast. they were holding up traffic, there was a long queue behind me so i sounded car horn one of them turned round and gave me a non too polite hand gesture!! they didnt move over either so i had to drive on wrong side of road to pass them. I cant stand that mentality in some cyclists..... rant over .... sorry !
clara55, that is exactly the situation I'm talking about. There are a lot of cycling clubs where I live, they always ride 4 abreast and because the groups are big it's like trying to pass a slow moving articulated lorry. On a number of occasions I've seen the outside rider of the last four move out from the group, cross the white line and force the driver to suddenly abandon the overtaking move and pull back behind the cyclists. I consider this an extremely dangerous and unnecessary manoeuvre by the cyclist and it adds nothing to the problem of passing cyclist's safely.
