Sounds a good idea. Produce fuel from either growing crops specially for the purpose or chopping down trees for processing. Trees, of course are sustainable. What you do to make them so is to chop down a 200 year old tree and plant a sapling - which may or may not survive to maturity - in its place.
The Energy Information Association states: “The energy content of denaturant is about equal to the energy content of pure gasoline (petrol). In general, vehicle fuel economy may decrease by about 3% when using E10”.
Poorer fuel economy, and you can be sure it wont be cheaper so why buy it.
^^^because it'll be replacing the current fuel (10% instead of 5% alcohol)

Or possibly because GM don't own Vauxhall any more - it was sold to the PSA Group, along with Opel.
