Hi have a vauxhall astra mk 3 it an N reg from 1995. its a 1.4 carb 8 valve. The problem i have with it is that it will cut out for no reason and then wont start back up again when you turn the key, after about a minute it starts up again. I have changed the fuel filter, air filter, oil filter, oil, spark plugs, water pump, head gasket, rocker gasket, and manifold gaskets. and it still keeps cutting out. There is no set time when it does this sometimes it will be fine for a week or two then will stop 3 or 4 times in one trip. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Mk III Astras were never fitted with Carbs so must be single point injection. Could be Coil, Disitributor cap, Leads. When it is not starting you need to check if there is a spark to the plug and if there is fuel to the injector. This will give you an idea of where the fault is.
