hi

if you lose (or break) your driving licence (the little card) what do you have to do to get a new one?
do you have to send off your info and a new photo? or do they have it on file or something and send you basically the same one again?
also..do you have to pay for it?

You must replace your driving licence if it has been lost, stolen, defaced or destroyed. The fee for a duplicate photocard licence is 22.00.

If you lose it report it to the police. Someone else could be useing it as false id.

Otherwise contact DVLA as kempie sugested.

P.S. How can you break it?
They have it on file. You dont have to get a new photo.

I haven't lost it or anything, I was just wondering as I know some of my friends have nearly lost theirs enough times!

and my cousin managed to break hers a few years ago - she put her phone in her pocket but the card got stuck between the two sliding bits (was a sliding phone) so it snapped when she tried to force her phone in her pocket! bit stupid I know..

thanks for the answers though..was just curious :)
