the indicators and hazards have stopped working on my 2002 beetle 1.6. i checked every fuse. what else could it be?

Flasher units have a nasty habit of packing up after a few years, so that's the most likely cause of the problem.

The good news is that they usually only cost a few pounds and replacing the unit is normally simply a matter of unplugging the old unit and plugging in the new one.

as beunchico says probably the hazard/indicator relay has packed up, common VW/Audi problem, Passat and Octavia had this problem.
