I have a ford ranger pickup which has not been driven in in 4 wheel drive for over a year. It drives lovely in 2wd but the 4wd seems to have seized up. Is this a massive problem and is it a major job to get fixed?? Thankyou in advance for all or any helpful comments.

You should drive it in 4 wheel drive occasionally,in both low and high 4wheel drive. When it is repaired do this about once a month and try to pick a wet day because it wears tyres out quicker. My son has got a Ford Ranger and he is having problems with four wheel drive, although he has put on new cv joints and is putting it back together at the moment.

The TRANSFER BOX can be bought separate.since you say 2wd works okay!
