Lorries banned from outside lane
On roads such as the M11 dual carriageway from Stansted to Cambridge the outside lane is banned for HGVs for a trial period of 1 year. Is this an acceptance of the failure to ugrade our motorways? Is this not just common sense when lorries have a strict speed limit and the road has a number of inclines stretching for nearly 20 miles?

I think you just answered everyone's concept of why motorway motorist get cut up as you say Spock!, are your tyres fitted with glue on the threads? I will not stick up for them all, there are bad HGVs drivers, it is not the HGVs drivers fault that he has his lorry limited to 56MPH & coming down to 50! why, some prik in Brussels was held up by a HGV, why are bumps on Motorways? ask the police when you stop for a break at the service area, they will give you a straight answer, A HGV Driver ( or the majority of them are professional) cannot speed, they use their MIRRORS, they INDICATE, when they break down, they pull well into the left of the H/Shoulder, not like some of the clowns out there that stop in the outside lane, TO CONCLUDE have a nice day, & smile when you go under the Trailor.

"I'm told to remember that if you can't see the lorry driver's mirrors, there's no way he can see the car (or whatever) behind him, so he won't know you're there." - that's correct. He usually finds out just after said oik (who, Docspoc, is more likely to be a know-it-all-can-do-no-wrong car driver like yourself than another trucker) has rammed his vehicle under your rear wheels because he didn't realise you needed to start braking quite so soon before an exit.
And Doc, why on earth do you think lorries can drive at 60mph? Didn't you know they're limited to 50mph? Pity some car drivers can't be.

I have to agree HGV drivers do use their indicators and mirrors, that's how you know they don't give a toss who's in the next lane as you have to swerve across the other 2 lanes to avoid being killed. If you dare to ask them what they're playing at all you get is 2 fingers and abuse as they hold their mobile phones and sandwiches.
