Probably a fuel line fault - have you checked your filters - make sure theres no crap in there. Alternatively it could be fuel contamination! Sometimes if you let a petrol tank run out completely it pushes all the tank deposit through the engine clogging up filters and stuff as it goes.

Hope this helps somehow.

i have used a bottle of red-x because someone else said it may be that there was junk in the fuel line

but its still playing up! maybe if i took it too a garage and asked them to check the fuel line caus ei wouldnt have a clue what to look for?

Well they can't really check the fuel line - all they'd do would be to flush it I suppose - but not sure. Have you checked the actual filter itself. Is it carb or injection by the way?

Have i checked the filter!!!!

he he! i wouldnt even know what one looks like! i am a stereo typical lady!

and i certainly dont know the difference between carb or injection!

Well I didn't want to be sexist :) - but here goes -

You need to get down to a garage where the big gruff (sweaty) mechanic will lift up your bonnet and have a good... sorry... lol

I think your best bet is the garage i'm afraid (but not Kwik Fit - they'll totally screw you over!!)

thanks ash! dont worry i admit when it comes to my car i know how to make it go, fill it up with petrol and make it look pretty after that i know nothing!

ill get someone to have a look at it! im glad you said about kwik fit cause thats where i would have taken it

Glad I saved you then!! I've heard some pretty dire things about Kwik Fit. Let us know the outcome (and if you wan't too you can post the work done and amount the charged you too) - don't want a fellow AB'er to get ripped off.

You could always buy a Haynes manual for your car and get your hands dirty :)

i do know some things i know how to check the oil and water and i once changed a brake light bulb after being pulled over by the police!

as for getting my hands dirty i would probably do more harm than good!

lol, well in that case you leave yourself with just one option....

crash course in automotive mechanics!!

Question Author
or make friends with a  mechanic!
The crash course would probably be cheaper, easier and far less stressful ;)
