Is it fine to drive 70mph for about 40 mins. Would it damage the engine as there are higher revs?

Thanks again

Might even do it good if you just tootle around in it !

It will clean the carbon in the engine up a bit.
As above^^^
Why 40mins, is it because of the size of your engine?
Back in the 1960's cars that could do 60mph were regarded as sports cars.

I can't see why you would be asking this unless the engine had a fault or you were unable to use the highest gear.
The longer the better
its designed & engineered to be able to drive at 70mph(and above) all day long...One of the points of fifth gear is to reduce the revs at high speed...
depends on the car but modern cars can drive at 70 all day long, mine would be barely ticking over at 70. Can you give more details about what you are asking. the speed on the road is not really any indication of engine speed.
I think there is a subtle hint in the title of the post, R1.
yes chuck but even that should be able to cruise at 70 in top gear all day long, so I'm wondering if there's a gear box issue.
having re read the post it could also be a slipping clutch !! really need to know what its revving at..
Yes .. So long as you change out of first gear.
206 1.1 ? about 9,500 rpm at 70.
