I've just been listening to You and Yours on Radio 4, talking about Online Dating. One of my daughters has often said, 'Why don't you find someone, Mother', but I am too nervous of what I might find.
My standards are also very high, and I wouldn't want to be unkind to anyone who didn't reach those standards.
Any comments? I'm 74 and widowed. Living in Leicestershire.
Am I being a wimp, should I just go for it?
Helly.....go for it! It's one of those things that if you don't....you will regret it.....
If you stick to your standards......and be firm and safe.....you won't regret it even if you don't meet Mr Right.
Be upfront and sound confident beforehand....even if you don't feel it.
I'd insist, nicely, on paying my share of any meal or outing....making it clear to begin with I was wanting the company and friendship.....then see where life takes you.....could be fun.....Gx
Thank you both, sqad and gness. I am content, quite comfortable with a very good circle of long standing friends. Just would like to see if anyone could make my toes tingle again!
Helly....I'm sixty five....and in much the same position as you.....I love the life I have now......but some toe tingling never goes amiss...... ;-)
Like I say.....let it be on your terms.....but remember....there are lots of chaps out there with high standards and a bit of spark left in them......☺
Two of my closest friends are 70 and 75.......both are feisty and gorgeous.....but believe me....the seventy five year old would have you drooling.....
She turns heads whenever we go out......which pees me off no end... :-(
Well I am 53 and I have lived without a partner for the past 27 years and I tell you something I would not change a thing
Your so much better on your own
helly....pity that i don't live nearer Leicestershire...you could "practice" on me. A meal for two, a few laughs a bottle of wine and a few stories and who knows, a little kissing with a few buttons undone.......;-)
Could you really go through that again.
Blimey...I am turning myself on.
