I never rated them very much anyway, although I see their appeal - a sixties guitar and vocal sound for those who were not around in those days, and want a band of their own to do it for them.

That said, I always remember John Lennon's momorable quote about why The Beatles would never reform - "It wouldn't be The Beatles, it would be four old guys who used to be The Beatles ..." and that really does sum up the 'reform' situation.

Not for nothing does Glenn Frey mourn the fact of a former hippie being a corporate sell-out with " ... a Dead Head sticker on a Cadillac .. a voice inside my head said don't look back, you can never look back ..."

That says it all really.

Great bands who have stopped for what ever reason should be left, preserved in memory, not tainted by being older and looking to re-tread past glories, it's undignified.
