What is it ?

Just heard it used on an advert/promo on tv.
I remember it from junior school, and like it.

Choir, young male voices. Something in English (I think) and then the earworm (per rup a pum pum) comes in.

Of course it is. I think I have just had a senior moment.

I think the one used on the telly was the version I remember from school 45 years ago.

Reminds me of when I like Tears of a clown by The Beat, and didn’t realise for about a year that it was the Smokey Robinson song.

Anyhow, thanks all for answering. I’ll get mi coat.

I am a student nurse and I rub-a-bum-bum
that's all I do all day - I rub a bum bum
that's how I earn my pay - I rub a bum bum ( 1980)

Liddle drummer boy -
That's another illusion shattered....

I always thought it was 'Par rumpy pumpy pee, rumpy pumpy pee'....

(Leastways it was in our school.)
That was the Christmas song playing in the background whilst Myra Hindley and Ian Bradey tortured their little victims to death. Not one I have been able to sing ever since. (To the annoyance of several musical directors.)
Really, Jourdain? How do you know that, please?
There's an audio recording available explaining it Tilly, don't search for it.
No, don't search for it Tilly. I heard an audio recording by accident many, many years ago and I've never got rid of it.
Yes I heard that a few years ago, Mamya. Don't search for it Tilly.
I won't. Thank you.

Ironically, I live in Hindley and Brady and Shipman’s town.
It's not the tune's fault, gromit. Just the way I associate with it. Sorry to have spoiled your enjoyment of it, not intentional.
This is one of my Top Five All-Time Most Hated Records Ever ...
Sings:
'The ox and ass made love,
Per rumpy pumpy pee etc....'
You lived in Shipman's town? I was at university when Shipman was briefly the college medical officer. Fortunately I had no need to consult him at the time.
