Most Overrated Music Star?

Who do you think is the most overrated music star ever? For me it has to be Elton John

I don't agree on Elton John. But I'm not sure how you define overrated- people like what they like- there's no right or wrong about it

I'm with ff on this. My guess is that the person you nominate is the person whose music you dislike the most. Which, obviously doesn't mean that they're over-rated. Perhaps over-hyped would be a better phrase. And for that title, the contenders are far too numerous to mention.

Wrote dozens of stunning songs such as Penny Lane, Eleanor Rigby, Yesterday, Long and Winding road, Let it Be, and dozens more.

There is a big difference between not liking someone and being overrated.

Nobody could call him overated.

overrated for me The Stones.... some good stuff..but more not so good..too much hype... underrated The Who....

I'm not sure you have to dislike them danny- just not like them anywhere near as much as so many others do. Yes, there have been bands/singers whose success I just couldn't understand because there was nothing in the music or their image that appealed to me- but I know other people don't appreciate a lot of the music I like so it's just a atter of personal taste

"Overrated" will always be personal opinion. If someone is popular enough to be famous, some people must rate them, but we don't all have to agree.
