Which was the only act to have a No1 Hit in UK and USA but no other chart entry ?

WHich quiz is this from . It's been asked several times in recent weeks. Teh most common answer is Zager &Evans. But perhaps it's something like US Aid for Africa

Depends on how you define "chart entry"

Zager and Evans' "In the Year 2525" reached Number 1 in the UK and the US and they had no other Top 40 hits on both sides of the Atlantic.

The Archies sang "Sugar, Sugar" which got to Number 1 in both places and they had no more hits ever. So it might be them.

Anita Ward had a Number one with "Ring My Bell", no more hits in the UK and only a Number 87 in the US.

Yeah so its The Archie but some might say Zager and Evans or Anita Ward also.

But wouldn't USA for Africa "We Are the World" also fit the bill?

I'm not so sure as USA for Africa is a group of artists rather than one act. Generally "supergroups" are not considered for One Hit Wonder purposes. That's what I've been lead to believe anyway :-)
