Thanks for all the replies folks. I can assure you that I have been keeping up. I can assure you that I look at the daily figures issued by the govt. I can assure you that what I see in those figures is nothing akin to a pandemic. I can assure you that that those figures of deaths and hospitalisations have been dropping steadily for weeks now. And the positive test results are not turning into cases. Why don't "the experts" acknowledge this? Why don't people on here acknowledge this? It's all on the govt website.
Because it's now a Pan(ic)demic, full of scaremongering. Why, you say? Because you've all gotten used to being fed bull $ h ! t. If Captain Johnson of HMHG says so, it's gotta be true! he wouldn't mess about would he?

140 deaths is a steep price to pay, if Boris is being cautious now it's not surprising.

The figures are falling steadily. Why is that fact being ignored and is never mentioned anywhere?

The majority of the 140,000 were in the first year of the pandemic, when Johnson didn't have a clue.

And for all of those who have clearly jumped to conclusions, nowhere in my OP do I make reference to, or show confusion about, the Delta variant. I clearly refer to it as the Indian variant, which arrived in this country in June, I believe. Just in time for Sajid Javid to take over as Health Secretary and tell everyone to start living with the virus and get back to normal. How can you blame anyone for following his advice? Well, he didn't mean it really, did he?

The new variant must have had them purring with delight, they'll be gutted that it seems to be very mild.

The Delta variant couldn't have been that deadly because only a few weeks after he took office, the Health Secretary eased the restrictions. On July 19th, as I recall.

It's now a Pan(ic)demic. The figures don't lie. They have been in decline for weeks. They have, haven't they?
