Another teacher sacked for daring to lay a finger on a child
The teacher was sacked because he physically restrained him by grabbing his arms and left some marks! Oh dear, must be assault then! How pathetic. Oh yes he was a 15 year old boy with 'special needs'. What does that mean? I will translate, it means a naughty child, simple as that, same as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Another label to excuse bad behavior.

Special needs is NOT a label to excuse bad behaviour. I am a step parent to a child on the autistic spectrum - he has significant issues following a difficult birth. I am so pleased however, that his learning difficulties, emotional difficulties, toileting difficulties and mobility difficulties are just because he is a naughty child. Thanks for sorting that for me.
BM - I thought the op was writing from a point of ignorance which is why I suggested he gen up on the subject. I think there are still people about who have not come across such children, despite the numbers around. I think they are special childfren for the way in which they cope. It also is a fallacy to assume they are 'stupid'.

i work with kids with behavioural probs and a lot of the probs DO stem from poor parenting. i know there are still people out there who feel that kids need a slap or worse and say it never did them any harm but that is an outdated outmoded way of thinking and no i am not one of the do gooder brigade either!!
