Why is it necessary to whow it? It can't be vital to the story? OK Sp points out below that there was an "uproar" over a gay bedroom scene. My question is, why must we have it on TV soaps at all. We all know about bandit bedroom activities, why is it vital to show it in TV before the watershed? come to that why are soaps exempt from normal watershed rules anyway?

Do you object to hetrosexual bedroom scenes?
Question Author
yes, before 9. Why are soaps exempt?

Bedroom scenes in Soaps tend to simply show people in bed.....talking. No gymnastics nor heavy-breathing...
R!....the "enlightened" now realise that homosexual sex scenes represent the norm" are not harmful, comprise everyday behavior by the masses........and hence suitable showing before 9pm.
Because they are trying to reflect 'real' life....in real life people go to bed.

Sqad - it wasn't a sex scene. It showed two men in a bed....big wows.

ummmm....I don't watch soaps, but mrs sqad said that two men , naked in bed, embraced and kissed.

For heavens sake, sqad...........

You've obviously not watched the programme if you think it showed a 'sex scene'.
Bedroom scenes in soaps are fine surely as long as they are not steamy. Showing couple cuddling or kissing in bed is fine and pre watershed bedroom scenes don't go too far in my mind. I am far more worried about pre watershed violence on TV. Most kids are quite aware that the parents 'cuddle up' in bed hopefully.

And what sex the participants are has no relevance whatsoever.
R1Geezer - why do you feel the need to refer to 'bandit' activities - your use of half a seriously nasty and homophobic adjective has been pointed out before.

It is ironic that you complain about offence to you, and blythly give it to others with your casusal use of unrequired expressions.
sounds no different to a hetrosexual love scene, however I think sex scenes should be screened after 9pm
Naked, embracing and kissing is not pre watershed in my opinion.
agree lottie!
Yep, 'love' scenes are OK,'sex' scenes are not
But it wasn't a sex scene. It was two men lying in bed, one with his arm round the other. These two characters often kiss and cuddle, fully clothed, outside the bedroom. There doesn't seem to be a problem with that.
I think Mr Geezer would give you an argument there ummm!
